PATCH TESTING

If you clicked on this link then you are probably interested in patch testing your products. Which is a great idea, if you have sensitive skin.

If you are wondering what a patch test is then stay tuned to find out as I will be explaining momentarily.

A Patch Test is a simple way to test your skin care or cosmetic products for allergic reactions. Even though the products are all made from all natural ingredients there is still a chance that they can cause an allergic reaction. If you are using Living Stone Wellness for the first time, sensitivities or not, it is highly recommended to complete a patch test on yourself.

Patch Testing is the safest way to ensure that the product and your personal chemistry are compatible. Signs of an allergic reaction could show evidence across a range of symptoms. You will want to look out for redness of the skin. That may be minor. An increase could involve itchiness or a rash beginning to form. On the more extreme end of things you may be experiencing painful swelling to the exposed area.

Ingredients are listed, so please avoid any products that have ingredients that you should not be exposed to. If you have any questions about the products in the collection, inquiring is always for the greater good. Feel Free to send an email or check out FAQ!

To perform a Patch Test is very simple but it is important to follow all the instructions below for the truest results.

Let's get to it!

The best area to perform a patch test is in the crook of the elbow. Start off with clean skin. You want to be sure there is no residual products from your usual regime left on your skin. So clean your elbow crease and clean it well! Soap and Water. Wipe once over with an alcohol pad or cotton ball.

Apply a small amount of oil to the cleaned area. Then cover with a bandaid. Let this marinate for 24 hours undisturbed. Try not to shower or get the area wet as that could disturb the validity of the Patch Test.

Best Case Scenario:

There may be some redness at the bandaid's location however that should fade. If there is no redness, itching or burning, then you are NOT ALLERGIC. Continue with full use of the product.

Worst Case Scenario:

If you are ALLERGIC what will most likely happen is a lasting redness that is coupled with a degree of skin irritation such as itching or burning sensations. On a more severe end of the spectrum there would be swelling or a rash on site.

If this occurs please seek our medical attention. I apologize for any distress or discomfort but that is why it is so important to Patch Test to know your status. I am no doctor [at least not yet] but seriously, if you have any serious reaction it is imperative that you seek out medical advising from a doctor or allergy specialist.
